The most crucial aspects of any language are comprehension and speaking. There's a common saying online that babies first learn to listen and speak before they learn to write and read in school. That's why many mobile apps now use AI-powered conversations to teach Chinese. However, we must consider one crucial factor: as adults, we don't have parents guiding us step by step like newborn babies. Therefore, I believe starting with traditional textbooks is still essential. Begin by learning Pinyin, then gradually introduce some Chinese characters. Once you've built a foundation, you can then practice through AI conversation methods.
